RONCESVALLES

The Roncesvalles neighbourhood (affectionately known as ‘Roncy’ to the locals) is centered around the lively Roncesvalles Avenue, bounded by Queen Street and Dundas Street West.

The area is made up of modern houses and low rise retail shops, neighboured by nearby  High Park and Parkdale, making it a popular area for the new families and young professionals alike that call Roncesvalles home.

Once known as ‘Little Poland’, Roncesvalles Avenue faintly resembles a quaint European town with restaurants and shops alongside contemporary houses and townhouses. Much of the Polish community still exist in Roncesvalles today, although new additions to the neighbourhood have given way to a more of a diverse population. Today Roncesvalles is home to a great combination of historic buildings, like the Revue Cinema, and modern shops, health food stores and trendy new restaurants.

With easy access to Dundas West Subway station and both the King 504 and Queen 501 Steetcar routes, residents have multiple convenient connections to downtown Toronto.
