The Beaches and the Upper Beaches is Toronto’s premier waterfront neighbourhood lined with boardwalks and picturesque lake views. Located just East of the downtown core, the Beaches neighbourhood is made up of three beaches (Woodbine, Kew Balmy Beach, and Scarboro), giving the area its name.
The Beaches neighbourhood features a large number of character houses and has a unique variety of architectural styles, including Victorian, Edwardian, heritage townhouses, and even colorful beach front cottages, all of which contribute to giving The Beaches neighbourhood its distinct style and lifestyle.
Queen Street East, which runs through the heart of The Beaches, is home to many local shops, restaurants, bars, and unique shopping. And during the festival season, the Beaches is bustling with tourist and locals making the most of the warm weather and enjoying neighbourhood exclusive events, like the Toronto Jazz Festival.
The Beaches neighbourhood is fully accessible to downtown Toronto via TTC via the Queen 501 Streetcar, which provides frequent, quick, and direct access to the city center.
